FAQ

Please read through the section below for additional info. about our big weekend. Don’t hesitate to reach out to Diana or Natalie if you still have questions!

  • To enter Canada, you need a valid Passport. If you are applying for a passport for the first time, we strongly recommend applying at least four months in advance (before or at the start of June 2026). If you already have a passport, please check its expiration date; if you need to apply for a renewal, we recommend doing so at least three months in advance (before or at the start of July 2026).

If you are entering Canada via a land border crossing (driving there) or via a sea crossing (taking the ferry), a US Enhanced Driver’s License (EDL) can be used instead of a passport. Note that this option is not permitted if you are flying to Canada. Only a handful of US states (Michigan, New York, Vermont, Washington) even offer enhanced driver’s licenses; if your license does not explicitly say “Enhanced,” it is not an EDL.

  • In most ways, this wedding will follow the same general format and traditions you’re familiar with.

However, when it comes to inclusive language, there are a few less-than-obvious things that we ask our guests to be aware of.

Mainly, Natalie identifies as non-binary and prefers to be referenced with gender neutral or masculine language. To make it easy, please find a short list of language to use below.

    • When referring to Natalie individually:

      • The Groom

      • Diana’s fiancé or spouse

      • Mx. Cullings

      • She/Her Pronouns (They/Theirs is always fine too though.)

    • When referring to Diana and Natalie as a couple:

      • The Cullings

      • The Bride and Groom

      • Mrs. and Mx. Cullings

      • Avoid using “she & she” or “hers & hers”

    • General language to use

      • The wedding party (instead of bridesmaids or groomsmen)

      • Natalie’s co-people of honor

In general, many of our guests are part of the LGBTQ+ community (and so you know the music will be good!). If you don’t know how someone identifies or what pronouns they use, it’s usually a safe bet to simply ask them or just reference someone directly by name.
